One of the most pressing issues that India’s population is subjected towards are the changes in water and wastewater management problems. The on-going repercussions of climate change, especially on monsoon (which will certainly increase multi-fold) have huge implications on agriculture.This makes India even more vulnerable towards water issues, as India’s population’s dependence is quite a bit, with 60% relying on agriculture for livelihood wherein nearly two-thirds of the cultivated land is rain-fed. To add to this,the government has launched ambitious programs such as the ‘Smart City Mission’ and the ‘Make in India’ campaign which need to be reviewed from water and environment lens.
